Teaching Philosophy

I believe that teaching is one of the best ways to share knowledge. Knowledge can not be simply put into the hands of students without proper methodology. Learning nonetheless remains a time-consuming and sometimes painful process for most students. In this process, it is my goal to help the students to acquire knowledge and be successful in an effective and comfortable way. With this as my primary aim, I see the teacher's role defined by knowledge, enthusiasm, fun and patience. (More in my complete teaching portfolio.)

Student Evaluation

- "I appreciate your concern for the students, and how easy you make it to reach you outside of class for assistance... I think you did a great job and don't change a thing about the way you respect and listen to the students."

- "What makes you a good teacher is that you are enthusiastic, and you have a good sense of humor. I think those two things are very important in helping students learn because they will want to come to class, instead of skipping because they don't want to fall asleep."

- "You obviously care very much about your job and put a great deal of time into coming to class prepared. You are incredibly knowledgeable about your subject and make me feel that you enjoy programming. Your enthusiasm for the subject allows students to learn better. "

- "I do like the way you try to keep the class included and paying attention by giving us a few minutes to think about and write some codes... They actually helped me understand the material better."
